Gonorrhea symptoms reddit12/17/2022 ![]() ![]() I'm positive my boyfriend is the one who gave it to me. I didn't think anything of it all this time. I haven't had any major symptoms - a little itching, a little burning occasionally, but I get UTIs easily and my pH is often thrown off. She treated me immediately, and also tested to see if the infection is still present. For some reason there was a mistake, and I was never informed. I had to switch to a new doctor because my old one moved, and when the new doctor went through my charts and labs, she noticed that when they tested around a year ago, I was actually positive for gonorrhea. saying my test results were all normal, and I breathed a sigh of relief.Ībout a year has passed since then, and I went in today to renew my birth control. Two months after we started sleeping together, I went in myself to get tested, just for my own peace of mind. I was stupid and didn't insist he get tested. He seemed very confident that he was clean, and that she had been clean. When we first started sleeping together, he said he hadn't been tested between his last girlfriend and me, but had before that. Many of them he had unprotected sex with. I was tested for STDs during that time, even up to two years after my last sexual encounter, and everything was normal. After that, and before my current boyfriend, I didn't have sex for four years. The guy was in the military, and had recently been tested for everything and was negative. Prior to him, I'd only had sex with one person, one time, with a condom (as a teenager). I've been with my boyfriend for over a year. I know this would fit in the sex or relationships subreddit, but I just really like this community and I desperately need some support right now. There still might be some damage, but hopefully since I didn't have it as long as I thought, it's minimal. I already took the antibiotics and everything, but I'm relieved that I haven't had it all this time, and I'm 99% my partner doesn't have it anymore or we would have reinfected each other. I guess men sometimes clear things up on their own in a couple of months, so my partner probably doesn't have it either. So I got my last test results back, and I'm negative for gonorrhea! My doctor said that sometimes the infection can clear up on its own, which it probably did sometime in the last year. ![]()
